Sayyid Murtada’s Moral Conduct

Purification of the soul has been one of the major purposes of sending the prophets throughout the history. To this end, such leaders as the prophets and Imams have been set as examples. Furthermore, the outstanding scholars who have been trained in the school of the Ahl ol-Bayt are considered as the secondary models in the society. One of such figures, who is of a high status, is Sayyid Murtada ‘Alam ol-Huda. He is among the scholars who have internalized the Islamic moral characteristics along with faith and spirituality in themselves and have put them into practice. In this research, Sayyid Murtada’s moral conduct will be studied both at the individual and social aspects. At the individual side, traits such as magnanimity, humility, patience, love of prayer and science are examined; at the social level, features such as paying attention to others, assisting the poor people, generosity and guiding the people by means of a descriptive-analytical approach are explained. The aim of this study is to introduce his moral conduct as an example and it is hoped that his good moral is followed in the society.
