The End of Farvardin (April ۲۰th, ۲۰۱۵) is the Deadline for the Call for Papers for the International Congress of the Thousandth Anniversary of the Death of SayyidMurtada ‘Alam al-Huda
HujjatuIislam Mahdi Mehrizi stated that the International Congress of the Thousandth Anniversary of the Death of SayyidMurtada ‘Alam al-Huda will be held by the cooperation of the Holy Shrine Hazrat ‘Abd al-’Azim HsaniPBUH and the Scientific and Cultural Institute of Dar al-Hadith. There will also be a contribution by a number of other scientific and cultural institutions and centers.
He reminded that the fourth and fifth centuries AH are among the most outstanding periods in the history of Shiism, after the initiation of occultation; so that valuable and important works were written in this period in the fields of interpretation of the Qur’an, theology, fiqh, and usul al-fiqh.
The secretary general for the congresses in Dar al-Hadith Cultural-Scientific Institute said that one can notice scholarly endeavors made by SayyidMurtada in this period among a number of scholars such as ShaykhSaduq, Mufid and Shaykh Tusi. He also added that: the aspects of the scholarly life and thoughts of SayyidMurtada are significant and writing articles about these aspects will be effective in the introduction this scholar’s life.
He said that the issues chosen for the International Congress of the Thousandth Anniversary of the Death of SayyidMurtada ‘Alam al-Hudainclude: his birth, death, family, and the scientific, political, social and cultural atmosphere of the period of his life.
Mehrizi reminded that: SayyidMurtada’s teachers included ShaykhMufid, ShaykhSaduq, Ahmad ibn Sahl Dibaji, Ibn Nabatah, Marzbani, …; and his students included Shaykh Tusi, Sallar, Abu Salih Halabi, Ibn Baraj, Karaji, Ibn Hamzah, Sahrashti, Doristi, and … .
He explained that the other issues considered for the International Congress of the Thousandth Anniversary of the Death of SayyidMurtada ‘Alam al-Huda include: SayyidMurtada’s moral and spiritual conduct (i.e. his individual behavior, social conduct, his interaction with the opponents, and his moral views); and, the Shia society in the period of SayyidMurtada.
The secretary general for the congresses in Dar al-Hadith Cultural-Scientific Institute said that SayyidMurtada’s social activities included the following issues: the religious authority among the Shia population, leadership of Sadats (the prophet’s descendants), the presidency of the justice bureau, judgment, and other governmental positions.
He said that SayyidMurtada’s Qur’anic and Hadith views include: interpretation, negation of the deviation of the Qur’an, invalidity of single narrations, fiqhal-Hadith, and particular Qur’anic and Hadith opinions.
Mehrizi reminded that SayyidMurtada’s thoughts in the field of theology include: God’s words, faith and disbelief, divine justice, exaggeration, and particular theological opinions; and his thoughts in the field of fiqh and usul include: establishment of the Shiausul al-fiqh, the opinion of discretion and imitation, fiqh and usul innovations and particular fiqh and usul opinions.
He said that the other fields for the call for papers for the congress are: SayyidMurtada’s cultural and social thoughts in Howzah (Islamic seminary school), his methodical and methodological issues, and his political, social and religious proximity opinions.
The secretary general for the congresses in Dar al-Hadith Cultural-Scientific Institute said that the other issues for the International Congress of the Thousandth Anniversary of the Death of SayyidMurtada ‘Alam al-Huda include: SayyidMurtada’s methodology in the scientific aspects, his interaction with the opinions and thoughts of the religious sects current to himself, the interaction of the Shia scholars of the next periods with SayyidMurtada’s opinions and views, SayyidMurtada as described in the books and sources of the Sunnites, the relationship between Sayyid Razi and SayyidMurtada, Sayyid Razi’s scientific thoughts and opinions, and the situation of writing Nahj al-Balaghah.
Mehrizi stated that the deadline for the call for papers is the end of Farvardin (April ۲۰th, ۲۰۱۵). Mehrizi reminded that: the institutes cooperators for holding the congress include: The Community for the Cultural Works and Nobles of the Nation, The Institute of the Islamic Research of Astan Quds Razawi, The Research Center of the Islamic Science and Culture, Jami’at al-Mustafa al-‘Alamiyyah, Dar al-Turath al-Najaf al-Ashraf and the University of Religions and Sects.
He added that the other centers cooperating for holding the International Congress of the Thousandth Anniversary of the Death ofSayyidMurtada ‘Alam al-Huda include: The Organization of the Islamic Culture and Communications, the specialized libraries sponsored by Ayatullah al-‘Uzma Sistani, the Center of Proximity of Islamic Sects, Noor Computer Research Center of Islamic Sciences and the vice chancellor of research of the management center of the Seminary Schools.
