The Background
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Rey City (Iran) is one of the ancient Shia centers, and it was a place where numerous scholars and hadith narrators grew. The Scientific-Cultural Center of Dar al-Hadith, in cooperation with Astan Hazrat ‘Abd al-’AzimPBUH,since ۲۰۰۱ has followed a project called “the Commemoration of the Nobles and Scholars of Rey”, so that through the introduction of these outstanding figures, a portion of the research and cultural activities are also organized.
The scholars and Hadith narrators whose commemorations have been arranged to be held include:
۱. His Majesty ‘Abd al-’Azim HasaniPBUH (d. ۲۵۰ AH);
۲. Abulfath Razi (fl. the ۶th century AH);
۳. Thiqat al-Islam Kulayni (d. ۳۲۹ AH);
۴. Abduljalil Razi Qazvini (fl. ۵۶۰ AH);
۵. ShaykhSaduq (۳۸۱ AH);
۶. SayyidMurtada ‘Alam al-Huda (d. ۴۳۶ AH), for the thousandth anniversary of his death.
The first four congresses were held respectively in ۱۳۸۲, ۱۳۸۴, ۱۳۸۸, and ۱۳۹۱ SH. And now, the arrangements are on the way for holding the fifth congress, for ShaykhSaduq.
The programs for the Congress for the Commemoration of His Majesty ‘Abd al-’Azim HasaniPBUH were arranged in five fields: ۱) Writing, revising and compiling the works of His Majesty ‘Abd al-’Azim Hasani and Rey City (books and articles); ۲) Ordering and calling for papers; ۳) Ordering the publication of some journal issues, concurrently with holding the congress; ۴) Publication of the CD of the scientific products of the congress; ۵) Publication of a newsletter.
The first field resulted in the publication of more than ۲۴ books, which were distributed concurrently with holding the congress. The reviewed and approved articles were published in four volumes, and in two special issues of two scientific journals: Ayene-ye Pazhuhesh (no. ۸۰) and Ulum-i Hadith (no. ۲۷). Furthermore, the congress newsletter published the news concerning the activities of the congress and some interviews and materials about His Majesty ‘Abd al-’Azim HasaniPBUH. Finally, all these works were published on a CD.
The scientific products of the Congress of the Commemoration of Abulfath Razi, developed during twenty months, were arranged in four categories:
۱. The collection of the works of the congress, ۲۰ volumes;
۲. Two special issues, ۴ journals (Ayene-ye Pazhuhesh, no. ۹۴/Bayyenat, no. ۴۷/ Pazhuheshha-ye Qur’ani, no. ۴۱);
۳. The congress newsletter, ۴ issues;
۴. The CD: the text of Abulfath’s interpretation and a collection of works of the Congress.
Considering the particular status of Thiqat al-Islam Kulayni and his book, al-Kafi, in the Shia world, the Congress of the Commemoration of Thiqat al-Islam Kulayni, was arranged to be held internationally. An effort of two years of arrangements resulted in the production of works in six fields: ۱) The researched version of al-Kafi, in ۱۵ volumes; ۲) Annotations and explanations of al-Kafi, in ۲۸ volumes; ۳) A collection of the produced works in the congress, in ۱۸ volumes; ۴) Special issues by two journals (Ulum-i Hadith, no. ۵۱/ Safinah, no. ۱۸, ۱۹, ۲۰); ۵) The congress newsletter, in four issues; ۶) The DVD.
The Congress of the Commemoration of ‘Abduljalil Razi Qazvini,besides thepublication of the book of Naqd: with new research and revision, resulted in the formation of a number of works including: ۱)‘Abd al-Jalil Razi Qazvini, his period and book; ۲) An introduction to ‘Abd al-Jalil and Naqd; ۳) A descriptive study of the grammatical structure of the book of Naqd; ۴) A collection of the articles (two volumes); ۵) The article abstracts, along with the Arabic and English translations; ۶) The interviews and statements about ‘Abd al-Jalil Razi Qazvini; ۷) The congress newsletter, in two issues; ۸) The DVD of the collection of the works.
