Sayyid Murtada 'Alam al-Huda’s Innovations in the Principles of Fiqh
Sayyid Murtada 'Alam al-Huda is known as the first Shiite scholar in the principles of fiqh, who possesses detailed writings in this field. He had novel views concerning the principles of fiqh. His innovative views may be studied in three different fields: ۱. structural innovations; ۲. instructional and methodological innovations; ۳. innovative ideas about the issues of the principles of fiqh.
The present article deals with Sayyid Murtada’s structural and instructional innovations concerning the principles of fiqh. The study has identified three such innovations: ۱. refining the principles of fiqh; ۲. adding the necessary issues to the principles; ۳. offering a new structure for this field of science.
Furthermore, Sayyid Murtada paid special attention to two basic issues concerning the instruction of the principles of fiqh: ۱. the methodology of finding answers to questions in the field; ۲. presenting the discussions in this field of science in a simultaneous manner.
