The Position of Intellect in Deduction of Regulations from the Viewpoint of Sayyid Murtada

One can notice rationalism in Sayyid Murtada’s fiqh deductions, as it is the case in other works remained from him. The present article is an attempt to identify and report in a general form all the cases in which the deduction of the religious regulations has been through appealing to the intellect, or it has been a matter of preferring reasoning to appealing to the traditions. Also, a number of the samples of Sayyid Murtada’s appeal to reasoning have been provided. Furthermore, a list of the cases in which Sayyid Murtada does not believe in the appeal to reasoning has been presented.
