A Study on the Manifestation of the Characteristics of Ahl ol-Bait PBUT in Sayyid Murtada’s Poems

This article studies the individual and social characteristics of the Ahl ol-Bait PBUT through focusing on the way they have been manifested in Sayyid Murtada’s poetry. The theoretical framework of the discussion is based on the poet’s three-volume Divaan. Through the study of these poems, the study aims to achieve a novel understanding about the characteristics of the Ahl ol-Bait PBUT in the field of the Shiite and Arabic literature. The method of this research is descriptive-analytic and the data have been collected through a library research and direct study of the texts. The findings of the study reveal that Sayyid Murtada had a stronger tendency to clarify the individual characteristics of the Ahl ol-Bait PBUT rather than their social characteristics. Bravery is the most outstanding individual characteristic. In Sayyid Murtada’s poems, the social characteristics have been mentioned at about the same level of frequency.
