The Preliminary Meeting of the International Congress for the Commemoration of Sayyid Murtada

The preliminary meeting of the international congress for the commemoration of Sayyid Murtada is to be held in ‘Allameh Majlesi Hall located in the Dar al-Hadith Scientific-Cultural Institute on January ۷^th ۲۰۱۶, hosting the scholars, researchers, professors and students. Hereby, all those interested are invited to attend the symposium.

The mentioned meeting will start at ۹:۰۰ A.M. and will last until ۱۱:۳۰ A.M. The schedule includes a lecture by Ayatollah Ostadi, a report of the scientific and cultural activities of the congress, presentation of a number of the articles, and unveiling of the commemorative stamp of Sayyid Murtada.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Sayyid Murtada’s works, some sample manuscripts of the works and the dissertations identified in connection with him will be exhibited.

It is necessary to mention that due to the revision of all of Sayyid Murtada’s works, the main ceremony of this congress is supposed to be hold in the next year. The comprehensive product of this congress includes all of Sayyid’s works in ۳۵ volumes, and “the research collection of Sayyid Murtada” in ۱۷ volumes.

It is reminded that Sayyid Ali Ibn al-Hussein Ibn-i Musa, known as Sayyid Murtada ‘Alam al-Huda (۳۵۵-۴۳۶ After Hijrah) is one of the influential Shiite figures of the fourth and fifth centuries. He was an expert in commentary, hadith, jurisprudence, principles of fiqh and the Arabic literature, who wrote numerous and various works. His views and thoughts have constantly been considered by the Shiite and Sunnite scholars. He was Sayyid Radi’s elder brother and one of Sheikh Mufid’s outstanding students. Furthermore in his own age, he was the premier of the Sadats (the descendent of the prophet ^PBUH) in the territory of the caliphs.
