Consideration of the Conventional Practices of the Sages by Sayyid Murtada in his Deductive Approach

One of the most important ways for reasoning in fiqh and also one of the most influential evidences in the evaluation of the tradition-based proofs is paying attention to the conventional practices (Irtikaz) of the sages and recipients of the revelation. Sayyid Murtada has appealed to this way of reasoning several times, and it has been appropriately manifested in his argumentative approach. In this article, first the reasons for Irtikaz will be clarified; next, two samples of appealing to such evidence by Sayyid Murtdad will be presented to explain the way he has dealt with one of the marginal issues in fiqh, i.e. "proving the purity of the mixed water extracted from an impure thing."
